Each year, 1700 young people (ages 13-25) learn to sail a tall ship with SALTS. Aboard our schooners, Pacific Swift and Pacific Grace, trainees develop strong teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills. During the spring and fall, we run five-day voyages to the Gulf Islands for school or youth groups. During the summer, individual young people join in ten-day summer voyages to extraordinary places on the coast of British Columbia, such as Desolation Sound, the Great Bear Rainforest, Haida Gwaii, and Vancouver Island. Periodically, SALTS conducts an offshore voyage to ports around the world. Right now we are working on plans to build a new schooner with offshore capabilities.
